Some way, somehow... the shop has been open exactly ONE YEAR today. I decided to list 5 new sets to celebrate. These sets totally qualify for the November Free Shipping offer I'm running on Twitter.
The longer I live, the more people I meet, the more homes I am welcomed into, the more I travel, the more blogs I read, the more books I crack open - it strikes me how much each life can differ and by how much. The conversations we have, the chores we complete, the hobbies and interests we spend our time engaging in, the music we play in the background, the food we cook and eat, the things hanging on our walls, the issues we're passionate about, the lives we lead... This world is full of so much variety, even from house to house, from street to street, from town to town, from country to country.
The goal of this blog is to give people a glimpse into our specific life and how we live it - a free and safe space to express who I am without fear of judgment or persecution.

I'm interested in: being Silas' mom, HAES, cooking, hanging laundry on the line, autonomy, working towards peaceful parenting, living near the water and away from the city, music that's way older than I am, not washing my hair, DIY, architecture, working with my hands, visibility, honesty, used book stores, IKEA, ETSY, fat activism, being sarcastic, ice water, beards, humanism, decorating everything, making lists, unschooling, saving money, intuitive eating, freethinking, people watching, reading memoirs and biographies, dispelling myths and breaking stereotypes, thrifting, sewing, NPR, grilled cheese sandwiches.

Super smart & witty. He can tell you all about the nomads, ninjas, and freerunning. He is also obsessed with cats and all things feline-related. This kid loves The Beatles, Iron Maiden, Gossip, Muse, Journey, Genesis, Metric, Lady GaGa and Deep Purple. He is also a grilled cheese sandwich afficionado, preferring a mix of colbyjack, asiago, parmesan, and feta.

My man partner. He reads books that I couldn't ever possibly get and can quote The Simpsons more accurately than anyone I know. He deep cleans the bathroom every Saturday morning, using so much bleach that we have to open all the windows and let it air out for a couple hours. It's quite nice to be well-matched in my neat-freak-ness. He loves misanthropy, Kokanee Gold, & documentaries about war.
I am passionate about Fat Acceptance.
Every person is different. This world is full of diverse shapes and colors and sizes and ideas. To think that you can diagnose whether someone is healthy just by looking at them is beyond ludicrous. It's time we stopped judging the people around us based soley on looks and ill-informed preconceived notions. It's time we stopped judging eachother AT ALL. It's time that people stopped making my body their business. It's probably pretty obvious, but I feel I should state it here and now that negative body-talk and weight-loss talk are not anything I want to see in this space. This is a body-positive, body-friendly zone.
