preoccupied TO THE MAX!

All I can think about is the damn house. And chickens. And raised beds. And rainwater collection barrels. And paint colors. And compost bins. And other various and sundry things related to the purchase of the house. I haven't cooked off the rotating menu plan in weeks. I make dinner at the last minute - on the fly - by the... wait for it... by the seat of my pants.

All I've been reading are books on gardening & homesteading. I've been wanting to make my own bread for a long time and was about ready to dive in and try it for the first time when all this malarkey happened - now I'm totally distracted and am pushing all of my plans by the wayside to focus on the house. Anytime something big is on the horizon in my life, I tend to push the smaller stuff aside until I can think about individual things again. My focus is 100% tied up in the big picture right now.

I hear you!

me and mine are in the process of buying a house as well and the weird thing is we know the person that lives in said house at the moment so when we visit everything is regarding what we will do to the house when we own it, what colors will be used, where the garden will be etc. But a million congrats to your family, what an exciting time!

Dude, if I could go there regularly I'd be completely insufferable. I'd probably always bring a tape measure and graph paper and little cut outs of my furniture - to scale!

Ahhh yes, the stress and pressure and excitement of homeownership. Get used to it - this is only the beginning! Congrats again!

Oh mama, I know it may all seem overwhelming now...but just think! You now own a house! How exciting--how grown up? Hello!? I am so jealous and happy for you at the same time.

Just take it slow...one thing at a time. It will all get done, eventually. Just enjoy the process--that's what it's all about.

Wow... congratulations on your new home! I understand how scary it can be to buy a place, but the great thing about buying is that you can decorate it in any way you like!
