flashes before your eyes
Life has been hectic, busy, complicated, and downright crazy. We put an offer on a house, they counter-offered within our range, we accepted. Now to sign more papers, get the home inspection scheduled, and barring any major disasters... it's full speed ahead. Dude. That happened fast. I'm still kind of in shock and denial. Once we've got house stuff out of the way we can focus on getting hitched, making babies, planting gardens - oh my! I'm so gobsmacked by the tangible reality of it all that I can't put together a proper post or write more than a few coherent sentences. So I give you pictures...

I made swedish meatballs from scratch for the first time and just about died, they were so good.

The fact that the house stuff is finally REALLY happening has sent me into a tailspin of cleaning and organizing. Nothing is safe. This is my kitchen when I was halfway through doing the cupboards.

The fridge was a jumbled mess. It looked amazing afterwards, but of course my crazy self didn't take a picture of that.

I beat Seth's ever-loving ass at scrabble again. Suck on that.

Silas has been taking breakfast in his room more often lately. There's comics to draw, people. His oral surgery went swimmingly! Now we're just working through the last of the antibiotics and trying to stop him from sneaking gum.

I made proper beans on toast last week with a cut up fried egg in the middle! I was apprehensive, but in hindsight I don't know why. It was delectable.

A dear friend dropped off a giant bucket of dried lavender for me to use in my sachets! I am forever grateful, as lavender is the most expensive ingredient in the mix. I've de-stemmed about half of it so far... it's A LOT of lavender.

Glad the lavendar worked out for you THIS time! :-)
I was able to salvage a few of the bundles from the box you sent me and hung them up to dry in my kitchen! :) I was totally able to use some.
Ah, the joys of moving and discovering who knows what in your closets and cupboards. Good luck with that! I don't envy you. But do send congratulations your way on the new house. And lavender - my favorite scent. Hope all the "stemming" isn't turning you off of that lovely fragrance.
1.I'm SO JEALOUS about the house!! That's kickass.
2.Swedish meatballs? OMG YUM.
3.Lavender is simply angelic. If you can apply that adjective to a scent.
1. A House how exciting for you!
2. Swedish meatballs I can't fathom good ones! I was forever marred by the awful, horrid ones served as school lunch - lol
3. Oh jealous! My lavender plant was teensy and never got big at all. I will manage to get a couple sprigs which I will sniff till they don't smell :)
Jane - I actually didn't find anything too scary back there. :) And the lavender still smells like pure heaven to me.
Birdie - I'd say angelic works.
Bobbi - I've never tried to grow it myself... it grows everywhere here, though. Sequim (next town to the West, about 30 miles from here) is like... the lavender capitol of the world or something. They even have a festival every year just for lavender.
i have a m.a. in english and i don't know what rout means. you go mamasan.
We use our official Scrabble dictionary quite liberally. Don't be intimidated or think we're all smart and stuff. Though as a result of scrabble, my vocabulary has grown. Heh.
