getting crunchier by the day

#30 on my list IN A PERFECT WORLD---->
"make my own laundry detergent"

I'd been wanting to do this for quite some time now, but just hadn't had the motivation to up and do it. Then I noticed that the detergent we'd been using was getting low and only had 5 or 6 loads worth left. Nothing will light a fire under my ass like necessity! And my gosh, this turned out to be so incredibly easy...

1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda

1 cup Borax

2 cups grated bar soap

(I used about half Fels Naptha and half Dial White)

So stinking easy... mix it all together, add some essential oils, stick it in a container and WASH!

I've used it on about 10-12 loads so far and am quite happy with the results. I tend to wash on warm (I know, I know, not so good for mama earth, but I live with dirty stinky boys) and it's gotten things clean, fresh smelling, and doesn't leave behind any clumps or anything like some people told me it might. I've already made a second batch and I think I'm gonna be using some variation of this recipe for a long, long time.

wow! i'm going to do this too! coincidentally, i only have about 5 loads worth of soap left. is Fels Naptha buy-able at regular grocery stores? (i never heard of it, but that could be just me.)

and yours even looks pretty! double yay-ness!
