birth order and all that jazz.

Dude. Duuuuuuuuuude. I can relate to this. I get this. My own spot in my family is so messed up. I've got the issues of oldest, middle, youngest, and only child all wrapped up into one big ball of Jasie.

My father was married once before he married my mom. He had a son and a daughter in his first marriage. By the time they had me, my half brother was 12 and my half sister was 10. We weren't incredibly close growing up. They came to stay with us a few weeks each summer and we saw them on the big holidays. So yes, I was the baby, but I was also an only child 95% of the time. When I was 11, my parents had my younger brother. This made my half siblings 23 and 21, respectively. So they were grown, more like aunt an uncle to the new baby than siblings. Suddenly I've given up my psuedo only child status for oldest child. Whaaa? This may explain a few things.

My sister and I at Xmas last year. She's 10 years my senior and we have different moms.
