people within driving distance who "get it"? YES!

Saturday morning my friend Candace and I trekked to Capitol Hill for brunch with some people from the Shapely Prose ning community... it was AWESOME. I asked my friend Katie to come as well, since she is the person who introduced me to the fatosphere and Fat Acceptance in general, plus she lives a few blocks from the coffeehouse where we were meeting. I was nervous as all get out, as I always am when meeting new people. Plus, I didn't know who all was going to make it. Four people RSVP-ed yes, but in end, two of those people weren't able to come and 3 people who didn't RSVP were there. The food was wonderful, the conversation enlightening, and the bonding... well, much needed. It's always encouraging to know people face-to-face who are on the same page as you.
